Self-Archiving Policy

The Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Medical and Veterinary Sciences (JAIMVS) supports the broad dissemination of scholarly research and allows authors to share their work through appropriate repositories and other academic platforms, subject to applicable copyright and licensing terms.

1. Preprints

Authors may deposit a manuscript in a recognized preprint server or institutional repository before submitting it to JAIMVS.

Authors should disclose any prior preprint or repository deposition during manuscript submission and provide the relevant DOI or persistent identifier where available.

2. Submitted and Under-Review Manuscripts

Authors may continue to make their submitted manuscript available in a preprint server or repository while it is under consideration by JAIMVS.

Authors should ensure that the deposited version is clearly identified as a submitted or preprint version and should not imply that it has been accepted or peer reviewed by JAIMVS.

3. Accepted Manuscripts

Following acceptance, authors may deposit the accepted manuscript version in an institutional repository, subject repository, or other appropriate academic platform.

The deposited version should clearly indicate that the article has been accepted for publication by JAIMVS and, once available, should include the DOI of the final published article.

4. Published Articles

Because JAIMVS is an open access journal, authors may share the final published version of their article without an embargo, subject to the terms of the applicable Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

Authors are encouraged to share their published articles through:

  • Institutional and subject repositories.
  • Personal or institutional websites.
  • Research platforms.
  • Academic networks.
  • Social media and other appropriate channels.

When sharing the published article, authors should retain the original citation, DOI, and appropriate attribution to JAIMVS.

5. Version Identification

Authors should clearly distinguish between preprint, submitted, accepted, and published versions of their work to avoid confusion regarding the peer-review and publication status.

Where a preprint or earlier version is subsequently published in JAIMVS, authors are encouraged to link the earlier version to the final published article using the article's DOI.

6. Copyright and Licensing

Self-archiving must comply with the journal's Copyright Policy and the terms of the CC BY 4.0 License.

Authors remain responsible for ensuring that any third-party material included in their manuscripts is suitable for repository or public distribution.

JAIMVS encourages responsible self-archiving as a means of increasing the visibility, accessibility, and impact of research in artificial intelligence, medical sciences, veterinary sciences, and related fields.
